The job

The purpose of the Assistant Quality Manager is to support the technical department in maintaining product quality, food safety and legality throughout the business by ensuring all procedures within the company are followed.

Core responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management of technical and quality functions including non-conformances and traceability.
  • Monitor product and production standards to meet BRC Global Standard and customer requirements.
  • Investigate complaints, completion of internal audits and checking and filing process control sheets and technical information data.
  • Attend NPD handovers and ensure understanding of required standards to monitor once in production.

Your experience

Ideally educated to a degree level in a food science, nutrition, food technology or food safety related discipline, you will possess solid quality assurance/technical experience from within a food manufacturing environment.

You will have working knowledge of internal auditing, technical documentation, quality management systems and BRC food safety standard (desirable). You will also ideally be qualified to Level 2 or above in Food Safety / HACCP

Competency with computer systems and software and good time management skills are also required together with a methodical, logical approach and high attention to detail.

The Assistant Quality Manager job is based in Dorset and is paying £30,000 - £32,000 according to experience plus 25 days annual leave in addition to bank holidays.

The working hours are 40 hours per week, on a rotating shift pattern of 6 am – 2 pm and 2 pm – 10 pm.
