The company

A new role has just become available with this niche and expanding food business.  The company are well-established and produce high quality products which are supplied into a variety of retailers.

The job

As Production Manager, you will be responsible for utilising food production assets and labour to maximise effectiveness and efficiency and within agreed budgets.

Other duties include:

• Ensure that quality standards are implemented accurately by all production team members.
• Build a trained and effective team of Production Operatives and Supervisors
• Deliver accurate budgets on labour costs and maintain KPIs.
• Plan production resources efficiently (machinery use, employed and contracted labour) and in accordance with orders/replenishment stock needed
• Ensure company procedures for Health, Hygiene and Safety and Food Safety are in place
• Maintain high hygiene level and ensure all cleaning records are filled in.
• Identify areas for improvement and tactics to minimise wastage.

Your experience

To be considered for the Production manager job, you will have strong experience working within a food production environment; chocolate or confectionery manufacturing experience is essential, together with working knowledge of food hygiene, food safety and H&S requirements.

You will have previous team management/supervisory experience, have fantastic attention to detail plus have excellent organisation and prioritisation skills to deliver the production plan.

Additional qualifications such as Food Safety and Food Hygiene are highly desirable.

The Production Manager job is based in the South East region and is paying £40,000.

The working hours will be 42.5 hours per week and typically based on the morning shift (6 am – 3 pm), flexibility to cover some overtime will be required during peak production periods.
