NPD Technologist

South Wales

Up to £25,000

 The role will be to lead the product development and ensure that products are safe, legal and meet and exceed quality standards and customer specifications.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide new product concepts in response to signed off internal & external briefs – on time and to the agreed costs and of quality.
  • Manage the NPD projects from concept through to successful launch of said projects.
  • Seek creative process solutions within the existing manufacturing methods, working with the process and operational teams
  • Work closely with customers in the development of innovative products
  • Work closely with the process and ops teams to ensure that you have a good understanding of the company’s manufacturing capabilities.
  • Develop recipes and set out process impact on costs and communicate any changes needed
  • Ensure all NPD, Ingredient, packaging and supplier databases are kept up to date, accurate and complete, with relation to new materials.

Person Profile

  • Ideally hold a Food Science degree or equivalent  
  • Experience managing people
  • Experience maintaining Quality Systems
  • Experience of customer visits/audits
  • Level 3 Food Safety (minimum)
  • Internal auditing qualification
  • Strong understanding of Excel and Word
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
