Business Development Manager

Flexible home working/ South East

Up to £45K plus car allowance



Offering a range of services to the food, drink and retail sectors our client is a well-established organisation with an excellent reputation. They provide valuable insight to the industry as well as a range of events.  They are now seeking a business development manager to drive commercial activity, acquiring new customers, offering exceptional customer service and ensuring that they are fully supported.

Key accountabilities

Prospecting to build a pipeline of potential new customers

Engaging incoming leads by phone, email, at meetings (virtual and face to face) as well as at networking events and trade shows

Working with the marketing team to seek out and secure new opportunities and generate potential leads

Meeting agreed financial targets and selling the full range of products for the accounts

Developing strong customer relationships to ensure that the customers are fully supported and opportunities maximised

Acting as a key contact for the customers, managing the relationships and ensuring regular communications leading to customer loyalty and retention

Dealing at all levels within the target companies, up to CEO

Seeking out new opportunities and maximising services to existing customers

Keeping updated with product knowledge

Completing reports as required, delivering sales targets

Working closely as part of a larger internal team whilst delivering results and hitting sales targets through your actions

Personal Profile

Genuine commercial experience of B2B sales in the food, drink, FMCG sectors

Thrives in a commercialised new business target driven environment

An analytical personality with outstanding business acumen and a customer focussed approach

Excellent track record of delivering new business opportunities and meeting targets

Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal

High levels of proactivity are essential, to deliver agreed targets

Excellent rapport building, to not only maintain current contacts, but an ability to develop new ones by building networks

Well-organised with the ability to multitask, pay close attention to detail and meet deadlines

Good understanding of the sector and an interest to know more
