So what will I be doing?
As Quality Assurance Manager you'll be responsible for promoting and supporting a continuous improvement based Food Safety and Quality culture across the site in line with the business technical strategy and policy.
You'll ensure that, through effective procedures, monitoring and coaching, all products produced onsite are safe and comply with agreed specifications/standards meaning that all systems and procedures conform to internal and external standards and policies.
You'll be an integral member of the Site Management Team and will report into the site Technical Manager. You'll also have 3 direct reports and 9 indirect reports. You'll oversee the growth and development of the team as well as the development of a strong Quality Assurance culture.
Key responsibilities:
Leading & ensuring that product compliance, food safety & quality are maintained at all times through the effective Management of a team of QA Technicians and team engagement with other departments.
Prioritising, managing and escalating risks to the business that relate to Technical/Quality compliance, Food Safety & brand integrity through effective incident management & trend analysis of non-conformances.
Driving a culture of continuous improvement through effective data collection, monitoring, trending and reporting of site Quality KPI’s.
Actively developing the site Quality culture through direct corrective actions & improvement plans, including effective and value adding procedures through the shift Technical and Operations teams
Ensuring site compliance to both internal & external audit programs, continuously maintaining and driving standards.
Managing and leading Quality Systems, promoting cross functional ownership of procedures including Food safety through a fully integrated HACCP system Coordinating new packaging trials and analyzing data, with the support of the group packaging technologist.
Assisting with and leading external audits & customer visits
Ensuring that incident management & corrective action plans and improvement projects are delivered in a timely manner.
Deputising for the Technical Manager.
Ensuring compliance with all Health and safety requirements.
