Cake Developer - 12 Month FTC

The Company

This is your chance to join a successful bakery business that supply innovative and tasty products to retail and foodservice customers. They are seeking an ambitious and inquisitive Pastry Chef to join their existing team to cover a 12 month maternity leave.

The Role

This is a unique opportunity to learn, grow, experiment and above all work for a company that you can be proud of. You will be reporting to the Innovations Manager, working to extend existing product ranges with new innovative concepts in line with the latest market trends and insights. 

You will work to customer briefs, creating new pastry products and cakes, using your cake decorating skills to the full.  You will be required to explore new exciting flavours / ingredients to see how they can best be attuned to new products and customer requirements.  You’ll liaise with the NPD and Process teams to ensure your products are manufactured successfully without compromising on flavour and quality, guaranteeing a taste sensation for consumers every time. 

The Person

This role would suit a creative and passionate Pastry Chef with culinary flair who is looking for their first step into the world of innovation within a food manufacturing environment.

Ideally you will have some experience within a restaurant or bakery setting where you have honed your pastry skills and now looking to move your career in a different direction.

You will be able to think outside of the box and be confident in presenting your ideas and passion for pastry to others. Knowledge of bakery ingredient functionality to help problem solve product issues and perfect recipes would be great to have.  You will be constantly on the lookout for the latest trends and be able to bring these ideas to life to keep ahead of competitors.
