In addition to this, our client is looking for somebody who can be an ambassador in front of suppliers and customers but understands the commercial complexities within food manufacturing and can navigate technical issues with this mind-set whilst ensuring the business is at all times compliant.

As Head of Technical you will lead a team of both factory and customer facing technical professionals across multi sites. The primary objective of the role will be to manage all aspects of the Technical Function whilst maintaining the Grade A BRC accreditation and ensuring high food safety standards are adhered to as common practice. Through your team you’ll be responsible for the quality management systems as well as all complaints and you’ll need to implement robust procedures to ensure investigations are properly co-ordinated and brought to a satisfactory conclusion. You will have complete autonomy over the factory and you must identify any areas that may leave the business at risk and report your findings in a clear and effective manner. You will also be tasked with the development of your team to assist them in growing with the business as it pursues its aggressive expansion plans.

You’re going to need to have done this before so will have 4 years plus Technical Management experience, and be an expert on BRC.

Extremely focused you should be passionate about your work and all things Technical. Whilst you are a big team player you must also be firm in your ability to defend the strategy and position of the business and ideally evidence of working with the countries retailers. The remuneration on this role is circa £55k.
