Material Planner & Ingredient Buyer

The Company

As a front runner in their sector the key to their success is innovation, and they are now seeking a Material Planner & Ingredient Buyer to help guarantee market leading service and product performance for their major retail customers.

The Role

Joining this vibrant Procurement team you’ll report to the Senior Buyer and Procurement Team Leader and ensure that the site has sufficient raw materials and packaging in order to meet business needs and customer demand.

You’ll also be monitoring goods in and raw material usage, comparing prices and analysing variances to assess raw material requirements on a daily and weekly basis. Further responsibilities will include investigating stock anomalies and keeping production documentation and recipe amendments up to date at all times. In addition you’ll be tasked with reporting on packaging requirements, guaranteeing continual availability to contribute to the successful launch of new lines and distribution of high quality products.

As part of your role, you will also build strong relationships with Ingredients, Packaging suppliers and Growers to understand medium term availability and create action plans if gaps in supply are occurring.

The Candidate

We are looking for a confident and proactive professional with experience in material planning/ ingredients buying in an FMCG food manufacturing environment. A good level of IT literacy, particularly with Excel, is a must along with a keen eye for detail and excellent organisation skills. First class communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential as you’ll be in regular correspondence with internal colleagues and key customer contacts at all business levels. You’ll also need great project management and numeracy skills in order to achieve success in this diverse role. If you can speak Italian or Spanish that would be beneficial but not essential.
