Supplying to the UK foodservice market, the business is well established and focus on sourcing the highest quality products and strive to provide excellent customer service to stay ahead of their competitors.

The job

As QA Technician, you will assist the QA Manager in the management of the company’s QA system and ensure all food products meet both quality and legal criteria.

Typical daily duties:

  • Carry out quality checks, sampling and quality reviews on all incoming food products, reporting any non-conformances
  • Manage equipment calibration
  • Manage and carry out chemical and microbiological sampling
  • Ensure all product labelling is correct and meets product requirements and legislation
  • Assist with the upkeep of accreditation where appropriate including involvement in supplier reviews and internal audits
  • Assist with QC checks and taste trials of possible new products, returns and competitor products

Your experience

The QA Technician job would suit a food science, food technology or similar graduate or someone with food industry technical/QA experience and looking to join a business where you can grow your food industry career.

Experience in high-risk, chilled products would be an advantage and you must be able to handle and taste all types of seafood.

You will also have good observational skills, high attention to detail, a strong sense of hygiene and housekeeping plus excellent organisational and time management skills. Additional qualifications such as Food Hygiene, HACCP, Food Safety etc. would be an advantage.

A driving licence would be preferred as you will occasionally be required to travel between company sites (fuel expenses are paid).

The QA Technician job is based in the West Midlands and is paying £20,000 - £24,000 according to experience.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30 am – 4.30 pm.
