My client is looking for an experienced Interim Head of Engineering to join the business for three months to cover the site until the permanent candidate joins in October 2021.
You will be working for a fast-growing, family-owned food manufacturing company. Their turnover is in the region of £30m and they are supplying products to all the major retailers and exporting to over 20 countries. They are an award-winning company with a range of products, and they pride themselves on sustainability, their packaging is 96% recyclable.
Reporting into the General Manager, this role will have full autonomy to lead and manage a team of Engineers. You will be responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of maintenance works and ensuring all production lines start at the beginning of a shift. Leading the engineering team, you will ensure the efficiency and availability targets are met. You will look to increase OEE and line efficiencies through the effective leadership of a team of multi-skilled personnel in order to improve plant start up performance. You will also follow up on engineering activities during any equipment downtime effected by weekend work.
To apply you must have a strong engineering background, working as an interim for 5+ years in the food manufacturing industry at Chief Engineer, Head of Engineering or Engineering Manager level.
You will have strong leadership and managerial skills and be a competent decision maker under pressure. A familiarity with KPI driven environments and effective measurement of the key metrics will also be important.
