The business
We are working with a leading food manufacturing business offering a wide range of ready meals. They are looking to strengthen the development team with the appointment of NPD Concept technologist.

The role
Ensure all NPD and EPD is developed in accordance with customer brand values, nutritional guidelines and brief, create and review nutritional's for all concepts and ensure associated claims can be made where required. Work alongside the purchasing team to source new raw materials from approved suppliers, ensuring clear specifications for material quality are set and communicated. Cost all new developments in conjunction with site team ensuring it meets the margin targets and costs are approved internally before being presented to the customer. Organise internal food tastings with the NPD Development Lead, Head of Development and Chef and ensure the quality of work before presenting internally to the customer teams. Review products at the concept stage over shelf-life to ensure they are of appropriate quality at each stage. Prepare and deliver professional food presentations that show the detail of recipe, ingredients, cooking method & key rationale for launch etc


The candidate
The ideal candidate will currently be doing a similar role within a food manufacturing business or you will be a graduate with one year NPD placement experience. You will have a passion for food development and driving innovation for your product category. You will have the skills to be able to manage multiple projects, ideally have presented to retailers previously and have good administration skills.
