The Business & Opportunity

Due to their continued success and ambitious growth plans of our client an organic Food Manufacturer is currently seeking an experienced, strategic and energetic Sales Manager to deliver increased profitability and add value across their business. As Sales Manager, you will be expected to both manage existing customers and bring new clients on board.

Due to the age and nature of our client’s business, product development will be a key function in this position, including the development of packaging and finding the right logistics solutions. You will be working with a small team of dedicated individuals and reporting directly to the Managing Director.

The Sales Manager will be expected to travel to see customers and present products, go to processing plants to work with product development and participate in trade shows when required.

Key experience

Senior sales experience within either retail or food service (ideally both domestic and international), category Costings, margins, forecasting, promotions and the impact of commercial decisions on the P&L. Category Management, budget setting and delivery. Responsible for one category/customer with preferably budgetary responsibility. Excellent working relationships with retailers’ commercial, buying and stock control/ forecasting teams. Interpreting statistical data and market insights and ability to balance idea generation, strategy development and management and consumer understanding. deployment and implementation

Key Accountabilities

Commercial Business Plan: Manages the delivery of the short-term plan. Identifies and implements opportunities to drive growth and deliver value; liaising with Operations, New Business Development, Product Development, Marketing and Finance.

Sales Forecasting: Writes owns and delivers sales forecasts linked to the commercial plan & strategy, monitoring and reporting volumes, promotions, customer activity and customer service levels.

Communication: Manages effective communication internally and externally to ensure all parties are informed on relevant issues.

Customer Relationships: Develops strong relationship with day to day retailer team.

Project Management: Monitors the product development plan & critical path to ensure target dates for launches and promotions are met

  • Self-starter and a team player who thrives in a corporate, entrepreneurial environment.

  • Able to build strong relationships based upon trust and shared problem-solving.

  • A confident presenter, communicator and Influencer at all levels, who can develop strong cross-functional relationships.

  • Excellent IT skills will be an advantage and a seasoned social media user a must.

  • Delivers results with the energy. Seizes opportunities and balances action with detailed planning.

  • Relishes a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail. Full driving license essential.
