Overview

To implement and continually monitor the compliance to the site Quality management system (QMS), HACCP plan and good manufacturing practices across all shifts.  Ensure the QA team are trained, provide an excellent service to the site and all QA tasks scheduled and completed.  Deputise for the site Technical Manager

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the site QMA and HACCP systems are implemented effectively, and the site QA team are completing all tasks to ensure compliance and verification against these systems
  • Ensure in depth knowledge of site procedures, especially in relation to BRC and Customer requirements
  • Training of the QA team when new members of the team join as well as ongoing training and assessment of team performance
  • Ensure site HACCP plan is implemented and CCP procedures are followed by all members of staff responsible for CCP’s on the line and are adequately trained
  • Working alongside the site Quality Systems Manager, drive review and stream lining of site procedures and relating documentation in relation to food safety, quality and hygiene
  • Ensure full knowledge of BRC and customer standards are known and implemented
  • Support Technical Manager in site preparation and execution of successful site audits and visits
  • Responsibility for the daily running of the factory with significant presence within the production facility.
  • Ensure site pest control contractor is managed, issues and recommendations are implemented and closed out
  • Management of the site hold procedure, ensuring the procedure is followed, non-conforming product is adequately put on hold and hold notices are in place and fully completed with all information. Ensure that items on hold are dealt with within a reasonable timescale to either determine disposal, re-work or supplier action required
  • Management of the site non-conformance log, ensuring adequate responses are received within the given timescales to prevent re-occurrence of issues

 

The Candidate

  • Experience within the Food Industry (Required)
  • Quality systems experience
  • BRC Auditing experience
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • IT Literate
  • Good level of written and verbal English
  • Ability to make critical decisions
