One of the UK’s most successful food business is looking for a passionate and driven Product Developer to join their Group NPD team and support the creation of new products across an innovative and fast moving category.
Reporting to the Head of NPD, you will work with the creative talents of Development Chefs to devise exciting new concepts that keep your category in tune with the latest market developments and ingredient trends. You’ll be responsible for recipe development, using your understanding of product costings and technical aspects to ensure new products are consistently produced with quality, costs and customer values in mind. You may need to get hands on in the kitchen to support the chefs with taste panels and customer samples.
The role will involve working with customer NPD teams and ensuing the timely management of critical paths, keeping them appraised of progress and being part of presentations. You will also work closely with the process and technical teams to ensure product launches are successful.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Product Developer / NPD Technologist with creative flair and some experience within a food manufacturing environment. Ideally, you’ll have worked in a similar fast paced innovations role where you have gained an understanding of developing product for the major retailers. You will understand the NPD process, can manage multiple projects and work well within a collaborative team.
Good commercial awareness, an eye for detail and passion for food are ‘must haves’ along with great communication, organisation and presentation skills too.
