Supplier Quality Technologist

Our client, an artisan bakery based in London, is seeking a Supplier Quality Technologist to be responsible for raw materials approval and monitoring. The role will also involve liaising with suppliers on issues such as traceability, non-conformances and concessions.

As a key member of the Technical  Team, responsibilities for the role will include:

• Positive release of ingredients
• Supplier Raw Material approval
• Supplier traceability
• Goods in checking
• Raising and closing out supplier non-conformities
• Dealing with supplier concessions, shortages and shelf-life extensions
• Raw Material queries relating to existing products and potential new products
• Customer portal queries relating to Raw Materials
• Trial and Sample approvals

Essential / Desirable skills include:

• Ideally degree or equivalent in a food related subject
• Previous experience in QA / Technical role in the Food Industry
• Experience of working with raw materials specifications
• Knowledge of relevant food legislation
• Confident to liaise with suppliers
• Previous experience and knowledge of the following BRC requirements :
• Procedure updates
• Supplier List and monitoring
• Raw Material spec updates
• Traceability

• Ideally will be confident to present to a BRC Auditor
