Technical Manager

Our client, a food manufacturer based in NW London, is seeking a Factory Technical Manager to be responsible for supporting the Production and Operations Teams in complying with customer technical standards and expectations, through coaching and auditing, embedding a ‘right first time’ approach.

Reporting to the Group Head of Technical, responsibilities for the role will include:

• Driving improvements in quality awareness and effectively implementing quality improvement projects
• Implementing the QA and QC site strategy and HACCP programme
• Monitoring and reporting on the site KPI’s related to quality both internally and externally in conjunction with production
• Managing the customer complaints investigation process and monitoring the complaints reduction programme
• Ensuring appropriate training is delivered by the Quality Team to all levels of factory personnel
• Dealing with specification and non-conforming materials issues as well as isolations, corrective actions, root cause analysis and implementation of preventative measures on site
• Identifying Quality / Food Safety best practice and leading and developing QA and Innovation Teams
• Coordinating onsite audits and customer visits

Essential / Desirable skills include:

• Experience in a Technical / Quality Management role within Food Manufacturing
• Ideally HACCP L3 with recognised allergen and auditor qualifications
• Understanding of Major Retailer codes of practice
• Experience in root cause analysis methods and tools
• Proficient in Microsoft packages, especially Excel
• Experience managing a Quality / Technical team
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Organised and good time management
• Good communication and influencing skills

The salary for this role is c.£45k and will involve working office hours Monday to Friday with some flexibility to meet the needs of the business.
