Technical Manager
6-12 month contract
London flexible home-based working
Working for this well regarded and distinguished brand you’ll ensure brand reputation and due diligence is upheld by technically managing the Product Safety Management system to manage risk and ensure traceability.
The successful candidate will have the ability to drive positive changes within the internal teams and areas and identify and close any gaps in the technical systems. They will also coordinate and provide quantifiable updates on the technical areas of responsibility.
Key Accountabilities:
- To proactively drive the Technical agenda and to take a leadership role in all technical matters
- Manage cross departmental relationships to ensure delivery of technical requirements
- To ensure internal operational procedures, COP and Policies manage current known risks to the business and to ensure these procedures are trained out to all relevant areas of the business and supply chain
- Ensure due diligence paperwork covers all relevant CCPs, provides traceability and covers all external and internal events
- Training on how to complete due diligence paperwork is rolled out to all new staff
- Ensuring all audits to be carried out to the schedule and all corrective actions followed up and closed off and external audits to be carried out to the standards agreed and within the timescales stated in the Supplier assurance policy
- Surveillance results to be scheduled, maintained and actioned in a timely manner and closed off in a way to ensure due diligence
- Ensuring customer complaints be investigated, logged and dealt with within agreed timescales
- Good understanding of Quality Management systems and Food Safety management
- Ability to drive positive change at supplier locations
- Ability to identify and incorporate new and emerging risk in in product safety and sustainability
- Knowledge of product processing equipment and controls
- Familiarity with law and regulatory guidelines
Person Profile:
- Scientific degree or equivalent
- Experienced in a technical area in either retailing or manufacturing
- Line management experience
- Internal auditing experience and the ability to be able to write procedures essential
