They are looking for a Senior NPD Project Manager with experience of delivering significant NPD projects in a packaged goods environment.
You will be reporting to the Head of NPD Delivery and will be part of a collaborative, innovative and ambitious NPD team who challenge themselves to think of and deliver new products grounded in consumer insight. In order to bring amazing products to market quickly and efficiently they are introducing a new Front End Innovation process.
You’ll need to bring your experience and knowledge to build on the process, being proactive about sharing your learnings and help embed new ways of working to move the innovation agenda forward. This will mean you understand when to use different tools and how to achieve results across different types of projects. You’ll relish being able to confidently and enthusiastically take the team on a journey of change. This will include working with cross functional teams, keeping them energised and up for the challenge.
You will be required to lead a range of different projects, complex front end innovation, as well as more straightforward projects such as range extensions and pack redesign projects. You’ll be operating at a strategic level as well as rolling up your sleeves on the operational side.
Your brilliance at planning and selecting the best option for executing different stages of the projects will need to shine through as you proactively look for new ways to overcome the inevitable challenges that happen throughout a project. Your ability to see the bigger picture will enable you to continually focus on process improvement opportunities whilst keeping up with market trends and anticipate any future issues to create an effective innovation process. You will need to influence senior stakeholders as well as suppliers to deliver complex projects and ensuring key milestones are met.
As well as taking project delivery responsibility, you will be the first point of contact for specific global markets, communicating efficiently across different time zones and forging positive relationships.
This role will suit passionate and driven NPD project Manager with outstanding influencing skills and a track record of leading change and delivering significant NPD projects for within branded CPG categories.
You must have knowledge and experience in project management and understand how to encourage teams to really think about what is the right methodology for any given project. You must also have experience of the upfront innovation process, end to end delivery of NPD projects through the Stage Gate process, along with the ability to manage risks, make recommendations and make timely decisions. Being able to use data analytics and KPI’s measurements to create actionable plans is also needed.
You will be a natural communicator and motivational leader with an ability to effectively manage and influence senior stakeholders internationally, building strong working relationships to drive forward change.
It is essential to be able to think creatively and strategically in order to see the broader business and commercial context as well as effectively solve problems on your own initiative. You will also need to be adept at influencing at a distance, managing different cultural styles and relishing change in a fluid environment.
