Job Description:

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum incl. shift allowance (subject to experience/shift) + competitive pension scheme, bonus and healthcare options.

We now have several exciting opportunities for individuals with relevant factory experience to join the Mars Petcare team on varied shifts (Shift 1: 24/7, 12hrs 4 on 4 off, days and night shifts, Shift 2: Monday to Friday, 12 hour day or night shift, 3/4 days per week ) at Melton as Process Operators.

• Relevant experience in an FMCG or another fast-paced factory environment.
• Experience with at least some of the tasks listed above, such as CCP (‘critical control point’) checks, conducting quality panels, running risk assessments, etc.
• Motivated and able to learn those elements you haven't done yet or those you have less experience in.
• Good team player with flexible approach, and communication skills.
• The role of a Process Operator is to operate, control and monitor machinery within specified areas of the factory; to optimise efficiency, product quality and safety and maintain a professional, clean manufacturing environment. Our Process Operators play a key role; with responsibilities including, but not limited to:
• Carrying out CCP checks, along with regular quality checks to ensure we are producing first class products.
• Ensuring efficient running of equipment from your area to maintain a constant flow of product to the next area.
• Running adjustments to machinery in order to ensure optimum capability and efficiency as well as minimise waste.
• Ensure comprehensive records and logs are maintained and effective shift handovers are carried out.
• Identify and propose ideas and solutions that will increase efficiency in production, cost or time. Support in using FMOS (Factory Mars Operating System) tools in problem solving these issues through to completion.
• Ownership of your own safety and the safety of those around you and high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in your area
• Contribute, support and improve team performance by working collaboratively, sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Communicate and / or escalate issues / non-standard running conditions / non-conformity to QSSM (Quality Safety System Management)  to other associates on days or shift support team as required.
• Ensure FMOS processes are followed and used effectively, along with Process Confirmation and other Lean/CI (continuous improvement) tools (5S)
