Technical Administrator/Spec Tech - North West

£27,000 to £30,000 

Reporting to the Site Technical Manager, the successful Technical Administrator/Spec Tec will be responsible for managing and maintaining the QA and technical admin systems to ensure compliance with food safety legislation and ensuring they are audit ready at all times. Training will be provided if you have not written specs previously.

Main Duties 

1.        Logging of complaints from all channels and initiate internal investigations, conducting complaints meetings with the Quality Manager. 

2.       Carry out trend analysis on the complaint data to highlight areas for improvement.

3.       Present the complaint process, data, trends and improvement plans to auditors.

4.       Complete the weekly and monthly site KPI reports and distribute as required.

5.       Manage the Internal KPI communication boards.

6.       Help manage the testing schedule for Products and raw material.

7.       Retailer and internal board reports creation.

8.       Active member of the HACCP team, reviews.

9.       Support with completion of first run QAS documents.

10.   Ensure RCA is carried out when required and that corrective actions are put in place.

11.   Responsible for the schedule of testing of products for nutritional analysis.

12.   Report any out of specification results to QA Manager and NPD to review, Micro/Allergen/Chemical.

13.   To manage and facilitate any traceability / recall, exercise either in a test or for real.

14.   Manage the BRC/Retailer Internal audit schedule, carrying out some audits from the schedule.  

15.   Train out any technical procedures into the factory with relevant colleagues.

16.   Carry out risk assessments when required and have a good understanding of validation exercises. 

17.   Artwork approval reader and stand in retailer spec writing.

18.   Manage the administration of any meeting minutes

The successful Technical Administrator/Spec Tech will ideally be degree qualified in a food or science related subject with experience of QA / Technical systems admin in a complex food manufacturing environment. Food Safety Level 3 or equivalent is required along with minimum of HACCP Level 2.
