The Company

With a goal to delight customers and consumers alike this continually growing food business supply the foodservice sector across the UK with high quality products.  They are now seeking a proactive and dynamic Technical Assistant to join their friendly team.

The Role

In this key technical role you’ll report to the Technical Manager and be given the chance to learn about and contribute to the smooth running of the technical department and manufacturing processes. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in ensuring all products manufactured are safe, legal and of the specified quality through maintaining Quality Management systems, ensuring information is up to date whilst producing and monitoring KPIs, and ensuring implementation of BRC requirements.
  • Maintain the appropriate documentation as set out in the Company Quality Manual and supporting with the rolling out of new policies and procedures  including the implementations of BRC requirements
  • Assisting and leading external audits & customer visits as well as carrying out internal audits  at production sites and shops and traceability exercises against site schedule
  • Liaising with customers on all Technical requests, responding to queries in a timely manner as well as investigating complaints to prevent future risks.

The Person

Suit a Food Science or Technology graduate looking to kick-start their technical career and expand their skills. You may have previously worked in a similar technical support role within the food industry where you have gained excellent analytical skills along with a keen eye for detail. You must have excellent communication, organisation and prioritisation skills as you’ll be handling multiple projects and liaising with colleagues and customers at all business levels. You’ll also need to be proactive and able to use your own initiative, thinking outside the box to consistently reach and exceed high standards.
