Role Purpose

Responsible for developing and maintaining the technical management of specific customer accounts. Working closely with internal business Managers to deliver excellence and enable continued growth.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work closely with the team to deliver the agreed growth agenda.
  • Develop robust working relationships with internal teams to ensure the customer technical agenda is maintained throughout all stages of product development
  • Develop the ongoing technical relationship with all relevant customer stakeholders.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of customer technical requirements to identify potential gaps and opportunities for collaboration, escalating internally to achieve an agreeable outcome.
  • Ensure all relevant customer requirements are communicated to category teams and other relevant internal stakeholders where appropriate
  • Support the tender process and new product development/introductions in providing accurate and timely product information as required
  • Keep abreast of activities within the Product Technology team to determine customer impact
  • Identify emerging issues that may require proactive customer communication
  • Work with the category technical managers and their suppliers to gather relevant technical assurance data as required for product approval and routine reviews
  • Prepare and deliver routine technical assurance review meetings
  • Complete customer documentation and specifications on bespoke systems
  • Ensure the timely resolution to customer technical issues, including complaint management

Person Profile:

  • Food Science/Technology degree or similar
  • Relevant industry experience, ideally in a technical management role
  • Broad spectrum of product knowledge including safety and risk criteria.
  • Knowledge of effective quality management & HACCP systems.
  • Knowledge of European and UK legislation.
  • Great communication skills with an ability to influence at all levels.
  • Customer management exposure/experience.
