Package
Job: Site engineering manager
Salary: £65,000 + £7000 car + 15% bonus
Package: Single cover health care + 3-6% pension or 6-9% pension
Role
- To develop and implement a strategy that will ensure the Engineering function is effective, low cost, well-motivated, flexible, and continually adapts to changing circumstances.
- To ensure continued improvement in engineering skills through a structured development programme.
- Ensure compliance with legislative, and European directive requirements.
- Ensure systems for stores to minimise inventory levels and working capital.
- Maximise utilisation of our skilled personnel. Integrate craftsmen and line operators into teams by deciding on the most effective maintenance structure.
- Implement project management systems and develop business standard specifications. To ensure a structured and systematic approach to capital procurement projects ensuring specified equipment installation is delivered on time and within budget.
- Create, implement, and manage both maintenance and capital expenditure budgets for the factory, to achieve factory and business targets including supplier optimisation and minimal inventories, be responsible management of the asset register and asset disposal.
- Develop plans for replacements plant, processes and systems as required by business objectives and plant condition.
- Ensure departmental compliance to Health & Safety and environment legislation
Experience
- HNC/HND qualification within an engineering discipline
- Background in engineering within a large multi-site manufacturing organisation
- Excellent trouble-shooter with the ability to resolve problems effectively
- Experience of delivering major engineering change projects
- Experience of managing multi-million budgets
- Exceptional communication skills with demonstrable record of influencing at all levels within an organisation
- Confident decision maker who understands the commercial implications of decisions
