If you are the sort of Production Shift Manager who is results driven, has a great understanding of continuous improvement and is looking to grow their career within Operations, then we have the role for you!

We are working exclusively with a leading international bakery, who are searching for their next Production Shift Manager to join their team at their site in West Midlands. The Production Shift Manager they are looking for will not only be looking to develop their own career within Operations but will also look to play a key role in training and coaching the production team, shaping the future of the Operations function.

The person who will be successful within this Production Shift Manager position will be an individual who is results driven and will grasp challenges with both hands. The role will require you to utilise your strong planning skills and will require you to take an organised approach when tackling problems. It is an extremely fast paced and automated environment, so clear communication and a hands-on approach will be paramount.

When it comes to your experience, they are looking for you to have good knowledge around continuous improvement, have worked within manufacturing and will have experience managing teams. If you’ve got experience working within food manufacturing, an automated environment or hold a continuous improvement qualification, that would be fantastic, however it is not essential.

Some of the key responsibilities of the Production Shift Manager will be to:

  • Lead the Production function to actively drive output performance against target KPI
  • Develop capabilities of the production team to proactively drive the zero loss philosophy by engaging improvement tools e.g. Kaizen methodology
  • Collaborate with the Stakeholders to monitor and investigate drivers of waste, identifying root causes and working with improvement teams to eliminate them
  • Drive 5S and Safety culture within the Production area
  • Ensure that all processes carried out withing the Production area operate within product specification and standard parameters
  • Coach, mentor and develop the Production team to the best of their ability as part of our People 4 Growth and Growth 4 People strategy

For the successful candidate they are offering a salary of up to £39,000 per annum plus bonus.
