Job Details

We are currently looking to recruit an Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Programme Manager to join our EHS team. In this role you will report to the Global EHS Director. In this role you will have global accountability and can therefore be based from either Aarhus, Dusseldorf, Stockholm or Leeds.

Arla’s EHS Programme Management (PM) organisation is accountable for Global EHS strategy development and programme management to realise our ZERO loss ambition.

EHS PM roles develop consistency in Global standards, systems and compliance across our end to end Supply Chain. 

A core part of the PM roles is also to partner senior leaders to further develop Arla’s EHS Strategy and to harness best practice across the group.

Responsibilities

Some of your key responsibilities in the role will include:

  • Environment Health & Safety  strategy development and programme management
  • Coaching and supporting senior management
  • Ensuring activities and resources are applied to address identified areas of focus and improvement
  • Developing and deploying EHS Global standards, systems and programmes
  • Coordinating best practice forums 
  • Supporting EHS Operational Support, local management teams and QEHS business partners to ensure regulatory compliance, drive performance improvements and reduce associated risks
  • Anchoring Safety & Environmental Management System in Arla Production Systems

Skills and Experience

To succeed in the role you will have:

  • Experience working within a food manufacturing, logistics and warehousing environment (ideally food production /drinks / dairy)
  • Sound knowledge of EHS regulatory and industry requirements for specific operating countries
  • Understanding and experience of working with behavioural safety and cultural development programmes is desirable
  • Understanding of ISO 14001 / 18001 / 50001
  • Auditing experience - lead auditor is desirable
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Exceptional coaching skills and ability to influence senior leaders 
  • Analytical skills - understanding of statistics and how to interpret
  • Change management competencies
  • Ability to work at both operational and strategic levels
