The company

Our client is a successful division of a major FMCG company operating across a number of diverse categories. The company specialises in Natural, Free From, Fairtrade and Organic food and drink distributed through major multiples, health food shops and independent retailers. The culture is supportive, inclusive and fast paced. They are looking for an Innovation Manager to join their team in North Wales and lead the innovation team to win in the market place.

The role

The primary objective of this role is to deliver core category innovation and extend the footprint of the brand to reach its ambition to be the leading, sustainable natural food brand in the UK. You will create and own the Innovation strategy and deliver the NPD Innovation pipeline. You will lead your team of 3 with passion and pride. You will deliver excellent project management of all NPD projects, with clear communication to all stakeholders. Other responsibilities include KPI delivery, providing market insight / trends, retailer stakeholder engagement, quality management and leading a sustainable packaging and raw materials innovation agenda. This is a broad and varied role and presents a real opportunity to be at the centre of this growing business.

About you

The successful candidate will have a Food Science degree or Head Chef background. You will ideally have a minimum of 5 years’ experience of Innovation gained in an FMCG organisation. You will possess recipe processes scale-up experience and strong project management skills. You’ll be a strong communicator, with good influencing skills and a willingness to work cross functionally. You possess strong problem-solving ability and organising capability. You are an enthusiastic team leader and motivator. The factory is based in North Wales however there is some home working flexibility so candidates from the North West England can also apply.
