Specifications and Artwork Technologist

To generate and maintain accurate finished product specifications and artwork for all customers and own brand products. To manage the specification process, in line with the critical path. To maintain accuracy of the specification if new raw material suppliers are added to the company portfolio and when raw material specifications are updated as per agreed schedules. To check packaging artwork in line with relevant labelling legislation.





THE ROLEEnsure finished product specifications are created using the approved customer format for all customers and own brand products to agreed timescales.To ensure product specifications meet with customer policies e.g. for raw material sourcing, nutritional policy, prohibited ingredients etc.To complete all internal documents to ensure artwork has been reviewed / counter reviewed to demonstrate due diligence.To complete all internal documents to ensure any Product claims on pack are validated.To challenge any information provided from colleagues or suppliers that is not in line with company and or customer policy/procedure and raise with relevant Product Developer.To ensure specifications reflect accurately the process control, quality control, chemical/micro testing standards.Ensure all required/correct version/approved documentation is attached to the specification as per Customer requirements





THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We're looking for a candidate that shows enthusiasm, initiative and excellent communication skills. However, the following basic skills would be an advantage -Experience of proof reading and approving artwork for the food industry A recent graduate in Food Technology or food related qualification (BSc) / Science Degree.Knowledge of food processing and legislation to produce information which complies with legal and customer requirementsIT skills necessary to use relevant applications and generate accurate and timely informationExperience in Specification generation and Recipe Management Systems.
