Quality Assurance Manager (Atherstone National Office)

In a nutshell, you'll help ensure only the very best products are chosen for our stores.

Quality Assurance puts in place the processes and procedures that help our Buying teams to make well informed purchasing decisions. Working with a defined Buying team you will be responsible for managing a diverse range of products and liaising with technical service providers to ensure all our products are safe and compliant to legal requirements. After all, only the best will do.

Salary: £55,915 rising to £81,415
Contract: Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 50 Hours per week with the opportunity of 2 days a week home working.

Role overview

Are you an experienced Quality/Food professional looking for a new challenge?

Would you like to work for a leading, growing Retailer as a Quality Assurance Manager looking after a number of Non- Food and Food categories?

If so, this exciting opportunity could be for you!

Focusing on a combination of non-food categories as well as food, you will be an experienced technical professional, with substantial experience in Retail, Food Service, Quality and/or Manufacturing.

You will work cross functionally with the Buying teams with responsibility for managing a diverse range of commodity groups. You will manage a team that will liaise with our nominated Technical Service Providers and Buyers to ensure products meet our quality, safety and legal standards. In addition, you will be engaged in working with International QA colleagues to influence the future development and implementation of the Quality Strategy both locally and globally.

You will be versatile and dynamic with excellent people leadership skills, a good communicator with the ability to influence all levels within the business. You will be proficient in understanding EU and UK legislation relevant to your areas and be able to demonstrate competency to deliver safe, legal and quality products in your current role.

The ideal candidate will have a good track record of delivering projects on time and within budget and have excellent interpersonal and written skills. You will have previously demonstrated your ability in a fast-paced, cross functional/ FMCG environment. You will be able to show how you have driven business change and risk management in your current role. Your ability to show sound commercial and technical decision-making will be integral to this role.

Skills & Qualifications:

Essential:

• 2:1 Degree or equivalent in a science related field
• Experience in a similar technical field - Food Retail, Food Manufacturing, Food Wholesale or Food Quality
