Job Details

Our client, a dynamic, international business owning both iconic branded and own label food products, is seeking two Quality Team members to enhance the team at their site based in Suffolk. The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring all the required quality and food safety checks are completed on time and effectively communicated, and escalated when required, to all relevant departments.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, responsibilities for the role will include:

  • Proactive support of the operation teams (including manufacturing, warehousing, and engineering) providing support and advice on any Quality or Food Safety issues
  • Sample collection & analysis of incoming ingredients, ensuring only the finest raw materials are used
  • Working with the Raw Materials Manager to ensure any non-conforming raw materials or packaging is appropriately quarantined and documented
  • Review and verification of certificates of analysis/certificates of conformance to demonstrate compliance
  • Laboratory calibration – making sure all equipment is working within limits to monitor food safety and quality parameters of the products and raw materials
  • Internal documentation audits – verifying that all checks and records are completed accurately
  • Organoleptic testing of raw materials & finished products
  • Specifications administration – transition from paper to electronic system
  • Labelling and packaging checks
  • Maintenance of Quality & Food Safety databases - documenting, recording and investigating incidents to establish corrective and preventative actions
  • Contributing to continuous improvement from a Technical & Quality perspective

Essential / Desirable Skills include:

  • Previous experience of working in a Quality or Technical role in Food Manufacturing
  • Proactive, confident attitude
  • Keen to continuously develop and progress both own career and department procedures
  • Team Player
  • Commitment to the highest standards
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
  • Must have basic Excel knowledge

This shift-based role attracts a highly competitive salary of C.£35k including shift allowance plus benefits. Shift pattern is Monday to Friday rotating (06.00 – 14.00 and 14.00 – 22.00).  Weekend cover is shared between the team and paid at an enhanced rate.  Weekend hours are not contracted but flexibility to take on some of these shifts would be preferred.
