Technical & Quality Manager

Based in Ball Hill, Newbury we are a family owned and operated BRC Grade AA ambient food manufacturer of chutneys, condiments, dressings and cooking sauces.

We have a well-established product range and customer base in both the UK and further afield. We are growing rapidly and have excellent future growth potential.

A vacancy has arisen for a full-time permanent Technical & Quality Manager to work with the Senior Management Team Support staff are available to work with the successful candidate.

The role will be varied and offer the opportunity to participate in the development of the wider business. It is a ‘hands on’ role involving working with a team that are committed to maintaining high standards of food quality and safety. Professional and personal development opportunities will also be provided.

Key responsibilities include:

·management of our QA team and their programme;

- ensuring compliance with UK legislation and customer codes of practices;

· maintenance of QMS, HACCP, Allergen Control, Internal Audit Management, inbound materials management;

· management of all aspects of microbiology / chemical sampling of our products and trend analysis;

· ensuring we are BRC compliant at all times;

· preparing finished product labels and specifications;

· supporting our NPD process;

· supporting the development and implementation of our ongoing training programme.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A strong understanding of HACCP, food legislation and BRC V7 and quality hygiene auditing.
• The ability to coach and consult team members and colleagues at all organisational levels from plant floor to senior leadership
• Project and people management skills.
• Experience within the food industry and be educated to degree level.
• Previous experience of internal auditing and liaising with external auditors.
• Experience dealing with non-conformities, customer complaints and the writing policies and procedures.
