The company

We are seeking a talented individual to join a high-quality manufacturer which supplies to retailers, caterers and direct. You will join a friendly and supportive team and work in a BRC accredited, state of the art manufacturing facility.

Duties of the QA Technician job

The purpose of the role is to assist in maintaining a programme of quality assurance activity by ensuring that products are safe, legal, and meet or exceed customer expectations.

Key tasks:

• Work with the production team, checking the quality of products including check-weighing, product quality, packaging integrity and metal detection tests as required.
• Conduct various internal audits including foreign body, GMP, glass & hard plastic, and report non-conformances.
• Undertake monthly ATP Testing and swabbing quarterly.
• Work in the lab when required sampling products and water supply scoring them against agreed quality standards and implementing any actions required. 
• Assessment of raw materials, work in progress and finished products against agreed specifications and quality standards.
• Assist to develop and maintain a ‘quality culture’ and ensure all staff can carry out their duties competently and knowledgeably in the quality framework.
• Manage any quality issues arising within the manufacturing areas, ensuring they are clearly communicated to all relevant departments and major issues are escalated to the management team.

Experience required for the QA Technician job

• Educated to a degree level in a food discipline OR QA/QC experience from a food manufacturing environment (could be from a university placement).
• Experience conducting internal audits such as GMP, Glass audit (desirable).
• Working knowledge of BRCGS (desirable).
• Good communications skills, well organised and high attention to detail.

The QA Technician job is based in West Sussex and is paying up to £22,000 according to your experience.

The working hours are Monday - Friday, 6 am - 2 pm plus 1 in 3 Saturdays (paid overtime).
