Production Supervisor

Our client, a family business with sites throughout the North West, is looking for a Production Supervisor for their site in Greater Manchester.  The Successful candidate will supervise a medium sized team of line leaders and operatives in various production areas to manufacture products of the highest quality standards, adhering to Company specifications.

Reporting to the Production Manager, key accountabilities are:

• Ensuring that team members are correctly attired for their task prior to the commencement of work
• Producing staff weekly rotas within set time limits and agreeing holidays  
• Ensuring all start up checks are signed off prior to the machines starting 
• Carrying out department tasks in accordance with departmental processes ensuring quality standards are met at all times
• Ensuring all manufacturing and traceability paperwork is completed and recorded accurately
• Motivating team members and providing assistance to the management team
• Training of team members
• Reporting ongoing and daily performance against Targets and KPIs
• Ensuring that the moving of equipment is carried out safely by all operatives
• Ensuring all materials are available for production at the correct time 
• Being diligent in monitoring product quality, reporting any substandard products or ingredients
• Reporting any machine failure with the engineers 

Essential skills and experience include:

• Supervisory / Team Leader Experience in a complex food manufacturing environment
• Positive and organised, capable of working as a team member or on own initiative
• Ability to prioritise and manage workloads effectively to meet business needs and deadlines
• Level 3 in Food Safety and Hygiene and Level 2 HACCP would be preferable, but training will/can be given to achieve this
• Numerate and computer literate
• Able to communicate effectively across multiple teams

The successful candidate will need to be flexible to work shifts. The hours are 40 hours per week across 5 days on a rota basis, Sunday – Friday, between 6am and 10pm.  The salary for the role is competitive.
