Job Details

Are you an experienced Packaging Development Manager looking for a new challenge?
Do you want to work for an amazing brand who sell premium branded food and drink products?

Main Responsibilities:
To deliver packaging development for key strategic packaging projects, fully developing and costing the packaging for the projects.
For smaller NPD projects to create packaging development briefs for the project owner.
To sign off supplier led packaging development through the gated process.
Deliver presentations both internally and to retailers on packaging initiative and developments.
To agree and maintain specifications for all packaging components.
Work with potential suppliers to develop tool drawings, models, pilot samples and sign off with budget holder any commissioned tooling for any new components.
Manage a 12 month strategic packaging development workload plan.
Manage and prioritise the packaging development critical path actions (for key strategic projects).
Maintain an up to date knowledge of all aspects of packaging technology and innovation & identifying those trends and developments which can enhance product performance and efficiency.
Ensure all packaging components are safe and meet all appropriate legislation.

Key Skills Required:
Demonstrate good judgement, drive and influence.
Manage cross departmental relationships to ensure delivery of packaging development requirements.
Create and deliver long term sustainable relationships and positive change with our supply base.
Good understanding of packaging quality management systems.
Demonstrated troubleshooting ability.
Knowledge of packaging processing equipment and controls.
Familiarity with law and regulatory guidelines.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Strong project management skills and ability to prioritise own workload.
