Production Manager

About the Company

I am working with a high-end food production business based in London, searching for a Production Manager to launch and lead their new production site.  Producing a range of quality, ready to eat products, the business is offering the opportunity for a high-calibre food manufacturing professional to join and develop in their rapidly growing business.

About The Role

To succeed in this dynamic role, the ideal candidate will need to bring strong experience in the following areas:

• Implement strategic, long term production planning procedures to effectively manage the weekly and monthly operational production planning.
• Single Point of responsibility to see the business gain and maintain SALSA certification – including writing and amending procedures, training staff, managing record maintenance, handling audits and writing, revising, and implementing HAACP where possible.
• Monitor all menu cycles to ensure customer service and satisfaction is not interrupted.
• Utilising your previous operational/ management experience to assess, advise, implement, and standardise factory and production line best practise.
• Ensure customer requirements/ specifications and service requirements are complied with on all customer accounts. This includes production processing, on-time performance, equipment inventory, and quality assurance controls.
• Quality focused – ensuring product quality is maintained within specified parameters and within yield targets.
• Tracking and managing finished product output quality and yields and ensure weekly production profile targets are achieved. 
• Recruiting staff for production kitchen and ensuring staff hours / rota planned to cover all kitchen duties and prepared to step in as an operative where required.

About You

The ideal candidate will be a skilled leader and food operations professional, who can manage independently, and deliver quality products within budget, whilst adhering to their high service level agreements.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Food Production and Catering (desirable) 
• Highly driven with a proven track record of improvements in operational effectiveness and good understanding of HACCP, COSHH, Food Hygiene, Health and Safety requirements.
• Experience of SALSA accreditation and seeing a business acquire and maintain this (desirable 
• Analytical and business minded able to compile effective business plans and solutions.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with multiple departments and customers.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
