We are seeking a talented individual to work for a family business that is a leading supplier of fresh, high-quality products.

The job

Key tasks:

• Always ensure company quality standards are consistently met and maintained. Assist with the daily growing of crops and management of the team. Assist with crop rotation planning – field selection, water availability, harvesting resources. Coordinating cultivations, weekly sowing, and planting. Irrigation scheduling and routine crop walking. Responsibility for sourcing crop inputs and farm resources. Monitoring compliance along with maintaining farm audits and systems including LEAF Marque accreditation and Red Tractor. Assist in the maintenance of the site, either through staff within the team or through external contractors. Help train all growing production staff in the roles being asked of them or to arrange external training where required.

Skills & experience required

The role may suit a recent graduate educated is a horticulture or agriculture related subject and is looking to start their career in the fresh produce industry.

Or, you may already have relevant crop growing or fresh produce experience and are looking for progression and to utilise your skills.

The Assistant Growing Manager job is based in North Yorkshire and is paying £25,000 - £28,000 according to your experience.

The working hours will vary according to the growing season, typically from 39 hours up to 50 during peak periods, Monday to Friday.
