Job Details


  • Day-to-day control and management of the Overhead costs for Cupar site.
  • Drive ongoing performance improvement through robust analysis of cost performance, ensuring key issues and opportunities are raised.
  • Support the PO Admin role in ensuring correct cost code allocation on invoices relating to Cupar Overheads


  • Perform monthly close for Overheads and produce supporting commentary for use in monthly reviews
  • Analyse trends within this data, and support budget holders or operations management to ensure understanding of underlying performance issues and help add value to the business
  • Hold period review meetings with budget holders and identify cost risks and opportunities.
  • Coach and influence budget holders in understanding how their cost structure works and help identify productivity savings.
  • Support Business Analyst in the preparation of monthly capital reports for Project Managers.
  • Help build the Annual Operating Plan for Overheads, adjusting the forecast as we progress through the year.
  • Support the PO Admin resource in ensuring correct usage of cost centre codes on supplier invoices received


  • Period close: Semi-autonomous role with support provided by Finance Analyst, decisions on financial variances to accept/investigate against a deadline. Discusses position with Finance Analyst / Site Finance Manager prior to closure
  • Action Plans completed and controlled within own supervision, period meeting with Business Analyst on initiatives/risks to include in forecasts.
  • Works in conjunction with budget holders (Level 6 - Level 11) to resolve problems & find solutions to resolve risk situations and improve opportunities.
  • Support Finance analyst in providing timely and relevant Financial information to Capital Project managers, helping with project closures.

    • CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) Minimum Part Qualified, preferably fully qualified.
    • Manufacturing experience (ideally)
    • MS Excel skills to a high standard & competent at presentation. (Excel / Powerpoint)
    • Ability to influence upwards in the organisational structure.
    • Ability to lead and motivate a team
    • Ability to effectively communicate with peers and senior managers
    • Drive for results/ability to work under pressure (role is deadline driven)
