About the Technical Assistant job

Key tasks:

  • Create, maintain, and update company and customer finished product specifications. Respond to customer technical enquiries. Complete documentation as requested by customers, including supplier questionnaires, risk assessments, supply chain maps and Certificates of Analysis. Review raw material specifications to ensure raw materials meet legal requirements and all necessary quality parameters. Maintain the supplier database and supplier monitoring and approval information. Check artwork to final copy ensure packaging information is correct and legal. Complete and maintain product Quality Attribute Sheets, Standard Operating Procedures, Manufacturing settings recipes and other documentation required to ensure products are manufactured following agreed specifications. Carry out internal audits and cover the Quality Technologist in their absence such as goods intake quality checks, laboratory sample administration and factory checks.

Skills & experience required for the Technical Assistant job

The role would suit either a food science graduate or someone with previous food industry technical experience looking for a step up.

  • Ideally educated to a degree level in food science, food technology, nutrition, or a related subject. Or possess previous technical experience from a food production environment. Qualifications such as Food Safety, HACCP, Food Hygiene etc. is also a benefit. Excellent organisation skills with high attention to detail. Working knowledge of finished product specifications would also be a great advantage.

The Technical Assistant job is based in West London and is paying £20,000 - £27,000 according to your experience.

The working hours are Monday - Friday, 8 am - 4.30 pm.
