Job Details

Support the UK Customer Service & Logistics ambient service (Walkers & Quaker) agenda to provide best in class inventory management and service execution, to deliver +98.5% inbound performance to all customers.

The role focuses on efficient and timely movement of all inventory across the UK ambient network (internal & external shipments), co-ordination of the long and short term capacity planning process, and includes a high level of interface with multiple stakeholders such as demand planning, supply planning and logistics execution teams across all internal and external sites.
Lead root cause analysis on service performance across the supply chain (depot error, depot timeliness, transport timeliness, customer error, failure rates), with the aim of driving best in class <0.2% network execution error.
The role is a key stakeholder in projects to improve customer service aligning to wider productivity & supply chain strategy.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Coordinate daily inventory management across the UK Logistics Network to ensure the right stock is moved at the right time.
  • Own all UK Logistics Network service reporting daily, weekly, periodic, (Network execution, Failures, DT Timeliness, DRP timeliness)
  • Lead all associated service meetings collaborating with multi-site teams daily/weekly
  • Own elements of overall Network improvement plan to deliver <0.2% network error
  • Own short and long term network capacity planning liaising with Supply Planning daily
  • Co-ordinate outside storage sites to the agreed pallet throughputs, and ensuring correct product selection is handled through the site.
  • Own network pallet demand forecast data and communicating associated promotional activities
  • Own Depot Level Safety stock levels in JDA
  • Conduct root cause analysis on all in-stock service errors partnering with Supply/Demand Planning teams
  • Supply PIUK sites with information on status of urgent IWTs in periods of stock shortage as well as any delayed IWTS by the dispatching site by using Isotrak & depot contacts
  • Low code analysis and control, managing movements to clear stock through DRP process partnering with Supply/Low Code teams
  • Ensure NPD is launched flawlessly with the correct inventory split across the Network.
  • Prepare top line service decks for Leadership team review in conjunction with the NSC
  • Support ad-hoc project activity related to service performance as and when required.


JOB DIMENSIONS
Financial

 

  • Stock management of 97 million cases (£900mm gross revenue) of WSDL and Quaker product annually and Finished Goods Inventory value of £16mm+
  • Coordination of current variable 3rd party outside storage budget of £1.8mm


Non- Financial

 

  • Supports service levels to all customers and also has the ability to provide specific data relating to specific customers as and when required for further investigation
  • Working hours flexibility required to support service priorities as and when required
  • Permanent weekend shift pattern working Thurs-Mon


DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY

  • Works under direction of the NSCM
  • Potential use of budgeted storage and transport to manage unexpected stockholding requirements.
  • Changes to overall Days On-Hand (DOH) at SKU level through discussion with NSCM and Supply Planning Managers to ensure the network remains in a stable condition.


Without

 

  • Collaborate with Demand/Supply Planning Team in reference with all promotional Activity/NPD
  • SKU stock movements and storage levels around WSF depot network
  • Data analysis and interpretation to support improvement plans
  • Communications to all stakeholders reference daily inventory activity

EXPERIENCE/COMPENTENCIES REQUIRED

Essential Skills

 

 

 

 

  • Effective communication skills both aural and written
  • Able to plan and control own work, selecting and utilising effectively appropriate methods, procedures, tools, equipment and standards to meet all targets set.
  • Have a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to deliver accurate reports and presentations
  • Ability to understand the wider field outside of own specialisation and understands how own role relates to other roles in the PepsiCo business
  • Knowledge of PIUK Distribution Network and its constraints
  • Knowledge of customer ordering processes and depot network set-ups linking back to how stock moves around the ambient network
  • Advanced skills in all Microsoft Applications
  • Knowledge of systems associated with stock control both at DC sites and DRP planning (IMI. OFTS, supply chain menu, JDA, Qlikview etc)
  • Ability to absorb and embrace change


Educational Background

 

 

  • Educated to degree level preferred.
  • Or, strong track record within PepsiCo


Previous Experience

 

 

  • Must have broad experience in the customer interaction and logistics business environments. IT systems experience an advantage.
  • Supply/demand planning experience is desirable

 

Technical skills

 

 

  • Detailed knowledge of logistics and distribution management.
  • Expert knowledge of Manugistics (DRP) planning system and company systems/current software packages. This covers: IMI-Order, IMI-Warehouse, Manugistics Supply Planning, OFTS, Oracle Financial & OPM, Orders Database (ODB), Bar-coding etc.
