Technical Assistant

Our client, a multi-site food manufacturer is looking for a Technical Assistant for their site based in Greater Manchester. The successful candidate will provide a pivotal role in delivering the key objectives for BRC and customer compliance against systems, standards and policies.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, responsibilities for the role will include: 

Ensuring that the technical files are current and updated Responsibility for lab sample verification prior to dispatch Supporting all elements of customer and industry audits Supporting customer complaints and non-conformances. Communication and close out of non-conformance reports with supply chain and customers Providing reports and trend analysis on all technical and quality data Supporting key food safety meetings with organisation of minutes Delivery of training to the food integrity team Assisting with NPD projects - ensuring that all related document changes are updated, artwork process is controlled, and label checks are prepared for final approval Ensuring that all electronic and paper due diligence systems are up to date and readily available for audit assessment

Essential / Desirable skills include:

Good communication skills - written and oral Ability to work as part of a team and unsupervised Ideally, the candidate will have experience within a food industry technical/compliance function and demonstrate a knowledge of related food technical systems Proficiency with Microsoft systems, ability to prepare detailed reports in Word, Excel and other related systems

The working hours are 8am to 5pm, Monday – Friday. The salary for the role is competitive. A driving licence is essential as there may be a requirement to work at the organisation’s second site (within 10 miles)
