Our client based in London are searching for a Supply Chain Manager to join their exceptional Supply Chain team and lead a team of five.  
    
Job Role
To forecast, plan and coordinate inventory to ensure good stock levels are maintained, to manage and reduce residual stock.  Manage the purchasing and logistics team to improve day to day operations to increase both speed and efficiency.

Collaborate with suppliers and freight companies to ensure all operations meet our standards and goods arrive in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
•    Monitoring and forecasting inventory, determining purchasing needs and identify costs
•    Manage the day to day performance of the Purchasing and Logistics team by setting clear objectives and providing regular feedback through appraisals, coaching and development
•    Overseeing daily activities of the purchasing department, including delegating tasks and supervising teams
•    Assess, manage, and mitigate supply chain risks, to include but not limited to, stock obsolescence, write off, overstocks, out of stocks
•    To deliver excellent service by managing stock levels, delivery times and transport costs
•    To coordinate and control the order cycle to ensure that adequate stockholdings are always available.
•    Ensure that an effective and timely order management and acknowledgement system is maintained
•    Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
•    Working cross-functionally and communicating frequently with the sales team to ensure accurate forecasts are in place
•    Constantly reviewing promotional volumes and timings to ensure we deliver against forecasts.
•    Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers. Liaise and negotiate with suppliers to close deals with optimal terms
•    Develop business by gaining new contracts, analysing logistical problems and producing new solutions
•    Manage variable supplier lead times based on geographical location and manufacturing lead times
•    To manage regular stock takes, with accurate data corrections
•    Maintain metrics, period progress/critical reports, process documentation, and departmental records
•    Participate in supplier management processes, such as selection, qualification, or performance evaluation
•    Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports
•    Compiling and maintaining purchase records, supplier databases and procurement contracts
•    Work under the direction of the Operations Manager to standardise procurement practices through the group and promote procurement best practice
•    Monitor and negotiate freight costs and the viability of contracts
•    Implement a sound approach towards supplier relationship management, risk assessment and supplier contract management
•    Communicate and work with Finance & Business Analysis to ensure best practice, for example supplier payment terms and cost card management around FOB prices and transport costs
•    To make judgement calls/decisions based on your experience within the industry and that are right for the business
•    To ensure stock holding is at a good level at all times
•    To liaise with relevant departments to ensure all requirements are being met
•    Continually try to improve and develop business performance

•    Strong IT Skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
