L&D Manager, Food Manufacturing, Kent

This is a large business employing a substantial number with a strong track record of career development which will help you create and apply the site L&D strategy.

This new role has been created to bring greater emphasis to the learning and development of its large work force for this site, that is recognised as a benchmark of excellence for its particular product range.

While we have seen an increase in L&D/training across most FMCG businesses in the last 24 months, this business has placed significant focus and investment into this area for years and was proactive in pushing their L&D agenda, not reactive to try and keep up with the changing industry in more recent times.

You will set strategy and lead the learning team on-site while working closely with peers across the broader business estate to share best practise, help others but also learn more yourself.

You will gain great exposure to all levels of the business while building close relationships with the GM and People Partners, while managing the L&D team. Additionally, you will;

• Working closely with departments to deliver specific technical training where needed (e.g. technical)
• Budget responsibilty and ROI of the training plans
• Manage provision of learning delivery resource for the businesses plan where required
• Work closely with the Early Career Managers and liaise with apprentice levy providers to support key individual's development

The business requires you to understand what a good L&D set up looks like and help implement this into the business.

In order to do this you should have a L&D/CIPD or equivalent qualification, forward-planning skills, influencing skills, and a passion and desire for excellence in L&D. Ideally you will have worked in Food Manufacturing / FMCG or similar environments e.g. Logistics, warehousing, or Hospitality.
