Join the world of PepsiCo Supply Chain, our factory in Coventry is one our biggest snacks manufacturing site in the UK, producing a number of well-known brands including Doritos, SunBites, Squares, French Fries, Wotsits and Monster Munch. It is a multi-technology plant with significant automation and is home to around 650 of our team. Our Coventry site is a fast paced and ever changing environment, we can go from idea to implementation in a matter of days. Position Summary

Reports to: Shift Operations Manager
Direct reports: None
Working Hours: Continental shift pattern (4 on, 4 off) working 12 hour shifts. This will rotate between days (06:00-18:00) and nights (18:00-6:00) each block (average of 42 hours per week).

Main Accountability

Packaging Manufacturing Technician:
As a Packaging Manufacturing Technician you will be a key member of the production team where your actions will directly impact our overall site performance. In order to maintain the efficiency of our production lines, you will combine your technical competence with strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to lead and initiate change. With an aptitude to coach and mentor others, you will have the ability to adapt to an ever-changing, dynamic manufacturing environment, and be able to quickly identify and remedy machine errors as they occur.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Being responsible for a designated area, driving performance to meet, maintain and exceed quality, food safety, cost, service and safety measures.
  • Co-ordinating and motivating the General Operator team to achieve daily production targets.
  • Providing operational control for all elements of running production equipment to include set-up, maintenance and cleaning.
  • Monitoring, controlling and carrying out basic fault diagnosis and repairs on equipment and machinery.
  • Taking responsibility for good manufacturing practice with excellent hygiene and safety standards within the designated area.

Process Manufacturing Technician:
As a Process Manufacturing Technician you will be a key member of the production team where your actions will directly impact our overall site performance. In order to maintain the efficiency of our production lines, you will combine your technical competence with strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to lead and initiate change. With strong communication skills, you will have the ability to adapt to an ever-changing, dynamic manufacturing environment. You will be able to centreline and optimise the process area with an understanding for the equipment set up and preventative maintenance processes needed, both running and stopped.

Roles & Responsibilities

 

 

  • Being responsible for a designated area, driving performance to meet, maintain and exceed quality, food safety, cost, service and safety measures.
  • Supporting/coaching the Process and Seasoning General Operators to operate to the right standards and resolve any technical issues they see
  • Providing operational control for all elements of running production equipment to include set-up, centre lining, maintenance and cleaning.
  • Monitoring and maintaining critical process input controls and measuring some of the product attributes
  • Completing Running and Stopped Preventative Maintenance along with Mechanical set up assessments
  • Taking responsibility for good manufacturing practice with excellent hygiene and safety standards within the designated area.


What we are looking for:

 

 

 

 

 

  • Validated mechanical and maintenance experience
  • Demonstrable experience of machine operation, fault-finding and repair
  • Logical approach to problem solving, and practical skills on plant equipment
  • Skills in communicating effectively and mentoring/influencing others
  • Able to find opportunities for improvement and implement solutions
  • Previous manufacturing/factory experience would be helpful
