Job Details

Our client, a multi-national food manufacturer is looking for a Hygiene Manager for their site based in West Yorkshire.  The successful candidate will run the hygiene management system on site, ensuring that high standards of cleaning take place. The Hygiene Manager will be responsible for management of the hygiene team members and completing team coaching to ensure progressive learning.

 

Reporting to the Technical Manager, responsibilities for the role will include:

  • Being an active member of the site Local Management Team, participating in meetings, projects and day to day running of the site Monitoring and improving the current hygiene standards in place in the factory for food contact and environmental cleaning Working with the chemical supplier to ensure the best practices are in place and all hygiene procedures and paperwork are in place Completing training with the operational teams on processes for chemical safety training Health and Safety Risk Assessments on chemical usage and procedures Training and assessing Operational staff and Hygiene Team members and ensuring training records are up to date Coaching and mentoring hygiene team in ways of working Ordering chemical and hygiene consumables and review spend vs budget Monitoring and investigating results of water testing and environmental swabs results Maintaining / reviewing the site chemical, waste and laundry contracts Playing a key part in site audits by 3rd parties and customers Member of HACCP team Completing site internal audits – pre-operational hygiene audits Emergency response to incidents and issues Identifying problem areas and working with the relevant managers to adopt a practical solutions

 

 

Essential / Desirable skills include:

  • Previous experience in a FMCG chilled manufacturing operation  - ideally with High Risk / High Care experience Previous experience as a Hygiene Supervisor / Manager Hygiene, health, safety and environmental knowledge – legal/regulatory and company requirements Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally Ability to generate detailed written reports- understanding of KPI’s Strong influencing and interpersonal skills Overall business awareness Ability to challenge poor performance and assist in developing a CI culture Ability to organise and manage own workload

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm with flexibility to meet the needs of the business.  The salary for the role is up to £40k per annum.  Driving licence and own vehicle is essential as there will be a requirement for occasional  travel to one other site.
