Quality Auditor

Our Client, a fast paced, high-volume manufacturer of ready to eat products, is looking for 2 x Quality Auditors for their site based in West London. The successful candidates will be responsible for supporting production and operation teams in complying with the business and customer technical COPs / standards and expectations.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, key accountabilities for the role will include:

• Being the primary contact in the event of food safety and quality issues
• Highlighting non-conforming material, ensuring that substandard product is not released to the customer
• Carrying out Good Manufacturing Practice audits and conducting Glass and Hard Plastic audits in accordance with the schedules
• Checking manufacturing records as scheduled
• Compiling and issuing audit reports and summaries, with requirements for corrective and preventive actions as agreed
• Ensuring that root cause analysis is carried out for significant or trending non-conformances
• Verifying and calibrating key equipment
• Carrying out organoleptic assessment of material
• Ensuring sampling of product, materials and environment is carried out in accordance with the schedules, and sent to external laboratories
• Training updated quality system procedures and product information to relevant teams
• Investigating customer complaints
• Conducting traceability audits and present internally and to customers when required; to include forward, backward, and mass balance

Skills and experience include:

• Experience in a similar Quality / Technical role within Food Manufacturing
• Professional qualification in Food Safety or similar field
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Organised with good time management
• Good communication and influencing skills
• Proficient in Microsoft packages, especially Excel

The working hours for these roles are 7am – 3pm (AM shift) or 10am - 6pm (PM Shift), 40 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7 days on a rota basis.  Flexibility is needed and time off in lieu will be given for any extra hours worked. The salary for these roles is up to £25k per annum.
