This is an excellent opportunity to work within a complex and broad supply chain with premium food products….

Global supply chains seem to have held up well, considering the strong head winds against them.

But that is not without a huge amount of work both proactively as well as reactively from people who work within them (I am constantly amazed at the efforts people have gone to and the innovation shown to keep them from collapsing).

And there is also the issue of cost, those in shipping/freight will know this only too well.

But despite all of these headaches and price increases, the instability and 'do whatever it takes mentality' has caused opportunities.

And this role is a creation of such an opportunity....
  • The business is successful; volume has more than tripled in the last three years and each staff member contributes £1m based on "number of staff" : "company turnover" ratio.
  • They have a complex supply chain



  • It is a new role, so leveraging point one against point two means there should be good opportunity for some big wins for you.

    You will manage the Logistics Manager who will concentrate on the day-to-day, freeing you up to forward plan and map what a great supply chain set up looks like for this business.

    You will need to have a background in food logistics and ideally shipping or sea freight so you can jump on the front foot and help start thinking more strategically about how to realise the high number of potential good wins for the business.
