Job Purpose

You will be a vital part in orchestrating the engineering agenda through QCDM, whilst role modelling the lean leadership behaviours and coaching of others cross functionally to meet the sites goals.
You will serve as a change agent by leading, facilitating, and executing continuous improvement activities using a variety of problem solving skills such as Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the central project team to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations. As the Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for leading our early equipment management process, using methodologies such as FMEA and Criticality to ensure the maximum asset life cycle throughout the entire life cycle of new assets.
  • Responsible for taking part in the Reliability Engineering sign off of new installations. This includes factory and site acceptance testing that will assure adherence to functional specifications.
  • Professionally and systematically defines, designs, develops, monitors and refines an Asset Maintenance Plan that includes:
    • Value-added preventive maintenance tasks
    • Effective utilisation of predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems
  • Provides input to a Risk Management Plan that will anticipate reliability-related, and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact plant operation.
  • Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include safety, capacity, quality, cost and regulatory compliance issues. To fulfil this responsibility you will implement or execute the following:

    -Data analysis techniques that can include:
    • Statistical Process Control
    • Reliability modelling and prediction
    • Fault Tree Analysis
    • Six Sigma (6σ) Methodology
    • Root-cause and Root-Cause Failure Analysis (RCA)
    • Failure Reporting, Analysis, Counter Measures and Corrective Action
  • Works with Production to perform analyses of assets including:
    • Asset Utilisation
    • Overall Equipment Effectiveness
    • Remaining useful life and Obsolescence Risks
      • Other parameters that define operating condition, reliability and costs of assets
    • Provides technical support to production, maintenance management and technical personnel.
    • Responsible for leading elements of our predictive maintenance strategy, which will include Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) tools and techniques, such as:
      • Oil Analysis/Tribology
      • Vibration Analysis (Fixed and Remote Monitoring)
      • Motor Circuit Analysis
      • Thermography/Temperature Measurements/Infrared Thermography
      • Ultrasonic Monitoring/Acoustic Analysis

Qualifications/Requirements

 

 

 

  • Good engineering and/or maintenance knowledge
  • Degree education in related engineering domain
  • Industrial experience in a food manufacturing environment would be an advantage
  • Computer literate. Familiarity with computer software (word, excel, etc)
  • Strong problem solving (Root Cause Analysis tools, Kaizen, Ishikawa, Cause and Effect) and data interpretation skills
  • Familiar with Lean methodology
  • Good influencing, presentation, communication and decision making skills
  • Ideally background in coaching of technician resource on the front line
