As a Technical Manager, it's a rarity to be given the opportunity to have 360 degree involvement across a business. Here the culture is inclusive and collaborative. So, who is this wonderful company? They're agents and brokers who supply to the major UK retailers. All the manufacturing facilities are based overseas, so it will be your job to make sure they're technically compliant and adhere to BRC standards.

To meet the standards, it's likely you'll have a minimum of five years' experience, ideally with protein and high care/high risk products. You'll need to be familiar with the retailer codes of practice, with a working knowledge of their specification systems. As a minimum, an intermediate HACCP qualification will be enhanced by TACCP/VACCP understanding.

You'll ideally bring with you a Lead Auditor qualification, however, consideration will also be given if you've had internal audit training. As suppliers are based overseas, you'll also have the opportunity for periodic travel to the factories for auditing purposes.
