The Company 

This varied role is with a UK food importer and distributor supplying customers within the UK foodservice and retail sectors. This established and growing food company are well known for bringing high quality products to the market.  With an international supply base and a broad product portfolio they supply all the major UK retailers with branded and own label foods.

The Role 

Reporting directly into the Head of Buying, you’ll be building and maintaining business relations with suppliers whilst negotiating contracts to ensure products are cost effective. You’ll liaise with the supply chain team to guarantee product availability and a first class service level. Keeping up to date with market trends you’ll continuously evaluate and source new suppliers to help stay ahead in this competitive market.

The Person 

We are looking for a confident, highly organized individual to join this dynamic team. Ideally with great negotiation and communication skills along with the ability to develop strong relationships. Previous buying or purchasing experience within an FMCG environment is ideal. This individual would also be able to demonstrate high levels of commercial awareness and be aware of current markets trends. Speaking Spanish or Italian is essential.
