Job Details

The role holder will be responsible for managing all shift related issues within Warehouse as well as driving opportunities for future improvements to deliver a balanced scorecard across Cost, Service, Safety, and People. Directly accountable to the Shift Operations Manager, the Warehouse Performance Co-Ordinator will be the figure head of the shift driving service execution hour by hour escalating by exception.

  • Responsibility for Warehouse providing operational direction for all on shift FLE's and support staff within agreed framework.
  • Balance competing priorities of day to day service execution with the deployment of the logistics strategy and annual priorities as directed by the Shift Operations Manager.
  • Responsible for Warehouse Resource Planning and Execution to deliver business needs inclusive of Job Rotation, Warehouse Shunting, Off shift activities, Agency provision.
  • Full site responsibility including Tolwell Road and on site support for critical engineering work - Friday 1800-0600, Saturday-Sunday am 0600-0600 as SOM is off shift, so supports remotely for escalation
  • Lead on serious incident management i.e. Engineering breakdown, BIS Downtime, Fire Alarm in absence of SOM
  • Daily autonomy to make any routine decision that influences the effective running of the SRDC Warehouse i.e. authority to change the labour plan to protect service and improve productivity, authority to book/cancel agency resource to protect service and costs, authority to issue/refuse short notice holidays/plan offs.
  • Enforcement of standards with front line teams through low level Disciplinary's and Performance Management discussions i.e. conduct, pick/load rate etc.
  • Responsible for all on shift activities inclusive of Basic RTW's, Walk and Talks, Weather Management, Near Misses/Accident/Investigations (Low Risk) and Warehouse Operative queries.
  • Control and monitoring of Shift Performance hour by hour inclusive of corrective action and financial reconciliation through Shift Reporting tools
  • Contribution to a defined people strategy inclusive of Team Briefs/comms to drive positive employee regard, strong front line capability and a KPI / continuous improvement.
  • Be an experienced Warehouse Team Manager from a retail/FMCG environment and be highly customer focused.
  • Be able to demonstrate a sound operational background with an understanding of the business and the interaction between the broader logistics and supply chains functions.
  • Knowledge of standard PC applications i.e. Word, Excel.
  • Knowledge of specialised PC applications i.e. Pinc, IMI Warehouse, Qlikview, First Care.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities in a fast paced and complex operation.
  • Results driven with a clear understanding of the link between action and results.
  • Conversant with Route cause Analysis tools to help drive performance improvement.
  • Experience of delivering coaching/training.
  • Understanding of Working Time Directive and Health and Safety at Work.
  • Collaborates well across departments with the ability to communicate effectively and influence others.
  • Flexible 'can do' attitude to role and duties.
