Job Details

Our client is an international nutraceutical company, a leading innovator in their specialist field, delivering a clinically proven active ingredient to improve human health. They supply a range of branded dietary supplements and B2B functional ingredients to assist in maintaining gut health, the immune system and overall wellbeing.

Based in Reading, this position has evolved with the business to manage the Supply Chain process from end-to-end. The successfully appointed applicant will deliver excellent service as the primary point of contact for all distribution centres, manufacturers and co-packers, whilst ensuring all International clearances and checks are completed. To do this you will need to build strong working relationships with the relevant internal and external stake-holders to provide an accurate and consistent approach to the supply chain process.

The ideal candidate will have worked within either the food or pharmaceutical sectors, dealing with short-shelf life products and distributing worldwide requires accuracy when forecasting and planning. You will need to be an effective communicator with the ability to interpret vast amounts of information to make informed decisions and taking appropriate actions when necessary.

Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be need to have experience in the key areas below:
• You will be responsible for the forecasting and production planning of three products for both the ingredients and retail arms of the business to supply Europe, US and Asia
• Tracking shipments and stock levels
• Working with suppliers and customers to ensure that they receive their goods on time in full and in the right condition
• Project manage all logistical aspects of new production which includes working closely with the regulatory teams to identify the importation requirements for new markets
• Management of key relationships, both internal and external, with the aim to build key partnerships to increase efficiency and reduce costs
• Ensuring the timely and cost-efficient delivery of stock internationally to customers
• Accurately calculating total supply chain costs in relation to ongoing production and manufacturing projects
• Obtaining quotes for transportation and making cost comparisons
• Raise Purchase Orders and invoices as required
• Ensure full traceability of products
• Communicate with marketing and contract manufacturers for artwork change approval
• Identify key warehousing and logistics partners
• To map, review and identify threats to the supply chain and areas for improvement within the supply chain on a regular basis
• Report on a weekly basis key performance indicators (KPI’s)
• Data management to ensure all customer delivery requirements is accurate

Personal Profile
• The ability to interpret and communicate complex material to a diverse audience
• Confident communication skills
• Excellent organisational, project management and time management skills
• Problem solving skills and knowledge of root cause analysis techniques
• Be able to demonstrate continuous improvement in a challenging global Supply Chain
• The ability to multitask across projects reacting quickly to ensure timely delivery where needed
• Analytical skills, accuracy and a measured approach to decision making, highly competent in supplier selection and evaluation
• Strong negotiation skills, strong contractual and commercial competence.
• Ability to self-manage as well as being an enthusiastic team player, strong communicator, highly customer focused
• At least 5 years’ experience in Supply Chain, international shipping and logistics in highly regulated environments
• Experience of production planning, forecasting and SIOP
• IT literate and able to use software applications such as excel for reporting, trending and prediction
• Proven track record of working in a complex, international business environment
• Working knowledge of supply chain mapping including VACCP & TACCP influences on the supply chain
• Must have a strong background in end to end supply chain including international shipping
